Volunteer Opportunities

Adopt-A-Stream Events

A Stream Search Day happens each spring and fall.  They are your opportunity to help collect valuable data about the health of our watershed.  On Stream Search Days, teams of volunteers sample local streams for aquatic insects.  A Training Day is held prior to each Stream Search to explain the sampling methods.

At the Bug ID Day, you can see up close the bugs that you found at the Stream Search and find out what they say about the health of the stream.  No insect ID experience is necassary!

River Clean-Up

Your organization can sponsor a river clean-up event with the River Raisin Watershed Council.  They are a great way to enjoy and enhance the river.

Watershed Presentations

The River Raisin Watershed Council is happy to give a presentation at your community meeting or school about our watershed.  Volunteer to host a presentation to help spread the word about our wonderful river and the need to protect our watershed.
