On March 24th & 25th, the Lenawee Peacemakers and the Adrian Dominican Sisters, are hosting a unique, two-evening event that deals with farming, justice, and the environment. Both events take place at Siena Heights University, Dominican Hall, Rueckert Auditorium, Adrian. Attendees may choose to come to both events or either one of the events.
Film Screening: The Future of Food

“THE FUTURE OF FOOD examines the complex web of market and political forces that are changing what we eat as huge multinational corporations seek to control the world’s food system. The film also explores alternatives to large-scale industrial agriculture, placing organic and sustainable agriculture as real solutions to the farm crisis today.”
Panel Discussion
Tuesday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m.
A panel discussion focusing on local agricultural practices and issues will include:
Beverly Ruesink on organic vegetable farming
Charity Turja on organic dairy farming
Janet Kaufman and Kathy Melmoth on CAFOs (contained animal feeding operations)
Mary White, OP on River Raisin Watershed
