Call for Local Ordinances and Regulations

The River Raisin Watershed Council would like to invite you to submit any information you may have on environmental ordinances and regulations in your township or county.  Our goal is to provide an extensive list of some of the most common environment-related regulations by township and county so that they may be easily located by everyone in the watershed via our website!

Here are some preliminary categories we hope to provide information under:
- wetlands protection
-
sedimentation control
- riparian buffers
- lawn fertilizers
- pet waste
- tree protection
- dumping (ditches and storm drains)
- hazardous materials storage and disposal
-
illicit discharge prevention (septic systems installation permitting, private wastewater plants, illegal sewer connections, time of sale inspection)
- storm water facilities (inspection and maintenance)

Please, if you have suggestions or can help link us to information about your area, send an email to Michelle Lelli at michelle.lelli@gmail.com or call the River Raisin Watershed Council Office at (517) 265-5599.

The information we collect is available on our website.  Just click on the "Local and County Regulations" link on the right-hand side of our homepage.

By making these regulations more visible to the public, we can help keep our watershed a clean and safe place to live, work, and play!
